...Lessons One and Two...
Last month OPSEU decided they wanted to go on strike. This meant all Ontario colleges were going to shutdown. School was out for 3 weeks. Lucky for us, it was really only 2 weeks because of our spring break. Nonetheless, we're the ones who still has to suffer. Because of the strike, some of our classes were forced to lose some of the curriculum. Our school decided they weren't going to extend the semester. Point is, the strike threw me off balance. I was doing so well this semester, and now my GPA has dropped 5 points since we got back. Well, I claim partial blame, of course I didn't study during the strike. But, I still never understood why they couldn't just wait to strike in the summer. I guess all that talk about 'quality education' really didn't mean anything. This definitely isn't quality education I'm getting now, by being forced to cram for tests and losing out on the curriculum. Now that we're back, it's been hectic. I've got exams back to back, as well as presentations, projects and marks to make up. Sheesh.
So that's Lesson #1 - keep studying even though there's a strike...
Lesson #2 - Control your road rage...Yes...I admitt...I do have road rage, but not to the extremes. Control your anger because you'll never know who you're going to attract. Like the other day, when a man was harrasing us, and swerved at us on the highway, just because my Mom couldn't get out of the passing lane fast enough...obviously there were cars on the right lane so she couldn't merge right away. So, I gave him the birdie. To make this long story short...the man decided to follow us to where we were going. We had to pick up my bro at Buttonville Airport (very small, not many people around, usually students), and when we got there the man got out of his car asking us why we f*cking cut him off...I told him we didn't...and he kept cursing...so there was this huge confrontation, during which he decides to call my Mom a whore, then of course I lost it and pushed him. After which my Mom lost it as well, then pushed him also, of course, my bro being the calm, not wanting any trouble type of guy, he gets in between to break us off. The man says he's calling the cops to charge us for assault, which made me even more furious, so I told him to go ahead. We had nothing to hide, we didn't do anything wrong. So finally the cops came...and long story short...he was the one who got arrested for threatening us and making us feel uncomfortable. Oh yah, this man threatened us, saying how he was a cop (which he wasn't because I told him to prove it to me, and he said he didn't have to show me nothing...) and that he was going to follow us to our house. See! What a , what kind of man would call the cops for 2 girls pushing him because he called one of them a whore?! Anyway, so again, lesson learned here, control your road rage.
