2 different worlds & mucho more

Last night I went out with Camilla and her best friend Tiffany to celebrate Camilla's birthday. Joann was supposed to come out with us, but she couldn't make it. We went to a club in downtown Toronto called Essence. Tiffany chose the spot, and apparently heard it was good because Flow 93.5 was live to air. It wouldn't have been my preference though, honestly I prefer house music rather than Hip-Hip/RnB/Reggae/Soca. Don't get me wrong, I like Hip-Hip and RnB, (im not so much a fan Reggae/Soca), it doesn't put me in a dancing mood, and the environment is totally different from that of a 'house' club. It's just interesting how different genres of music can make so much of a difference in the lifestyles of people. I find that the crowds that are generated from the Hip-Hop/RnB/Reggae/Soca clubs are generally younger, and when you're that young, your outlook on life is totally different than that of a 'yuppie', which are the ones that are more attracted to the genre of 'house'. Not that there's anything wrong with young people partyin' it up and having a good time, I just noticed the difference. J is older than me by 7 years, so me being 23 and him being 30, I get a taste of two different worlds.

Anyway, after the club, Camilla and I were starving! Luckily enough, there was a Pizzaville right next door to the club which was rammed! But the pepperoni pizza and Dr. Pepper hit the spot, we were ready to go home. Unfortunately, the battery on Camilla's car had died because Tiffany accidentally left the light on! The car wouldn't start! I took off my stilettoes for a more comfortable pair of slippers, and started hailing at the cabbies, hoping that someone would help us out with jumper cables. At least 6 people told us 'No', we decided to cross the street, and some guy decided to talk to us, and Camilla, because she just wanted to get home asked him if he had jumper cables, he said no, but said that a friend was picking him up and that maybe he might have one, if we'd just wait with him to find out and see. So we asked if he could maybe call the guy to find out for sure if he did have a jumper cable. The guy said that he didn't have his number. Camilla and I looked at each other, and I continued hailing cabbies, while Camilla politely told him that we'd be looking for other options in the meantime. We finally found a cabbie who was willing to help us, but was charging us $20 for him to do it because he said it was a 'peak period' and he could be losing money, we agreed coz we just wanted to get out of there! I didn't even bother talking to the guy, but I heard him ask Camilla why we were going to pay $20 when we could just wait for his friend. What a loser. I mean, realistically, why would we want to hang out with you, whom we barely know, and wait for something that may not even be there. Oh well. Loser.

I had 3 weak Sex on the Beach's, and I wasn't even a little buzzed. Oh, J called me right when I got to the club. I hadn't really talked to him, only briefly yesterday afternoon and again last night for 5 minutes. I went to bed at 4:30am, and got up at 7am just to phone him, but he was out of his room, I thought I'd catch him before he went out. He called while I was getting ready to go to church at 10:15am, I was running a little late, so I didn't talk to him for long. Right now I really should be catching up on some sleep, but for some reason, when I lay down, I can't sleep! I'll be so tired later for bowling. It's our last day, finally. Oh! Did I mention that our team won the season! Yes! My team, came in 1st! You should've seen J suckin' out, he was so mad their team lost, because they won 3 years in a row, and this was our first year bowling in the league. And all year round Kuya was bullying us, saying that we'd never win. Ha! Well, we showed ya didn't we! Anyway, I feel good that we won, and I can't say that I feel bad for J's team. Besides, J is getting a percentage of my earnings, because he did pay for my bowling for the whole seasonw which pretty much sums up to $500. So, I'm pretty much just getting bragging-rights. Lol. And since J is also paying for my air fare to Las Vegas in July (can't wait!), I told him to use the rest of my winnings for the trip. Remember, I'm unemployed, and he's paying for the whole trip including accomodations and food plus shopping, so I felt it was the right thing to do. I love J. ;)

Speaking of unemployment, I went to a couple of interviews, and have another one on Monday. I hope I get a call back on Monday regarding a job at my college, it would be beneficial because it won't affect my student loan. Wish me luck!

PS. It's funny how I started blogging with a headache, and now it's gone!

good luck with those job interviews!! i'm going to start sending out my resume and signing up with headhunters this week too.

we have that same age difference too and it really does feel like two different worlds! it feels like that gap closes more and more with each year we get older though.
