Reminiscing
J, his mom and I watched the Da Vinci Code last Saturday. It was ok. It wasn't mind blowing or anything. I actually thought it to be boring, honestly, it felt like a drag when I was in the theatre. J and I would glance at each other with 'when is this ever going to end!' expressions. J's mom even fell asleep! I told J to just let her sleep coz he kept waking her up, but he said he's scared she might start snoring. LOL. That was a fun-filled day though. J picked me up, then picked up his mom, and we all went downtown. J bought his mom a pair of Birkenstock sandals, and he bought me sandals at Aldo. He's such a sweetie. After that, we went to our most ultimate favourite restaurant in Toronto. Sushi 2 Go. I swear, it's Toronto's best kept secret. It just seems like no one in Toronto knows about this sushi place! I know a lot of people who like sushi, and they always refer us to their 'sushi joint'. Of course, J and I would go to check it out, just to see if it's really good or not. (We're food buffs. LOL) Our place always turns out to be the best :).
Speaking of food...I was just reading Cindy's blog, which just reminded me of all the wonderful foods in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Ever since I moved to Toronto, I've been on a hunt for these foods. One of which my taste buds will never ever get to enjoy again, unless I actually go back there, which I can't. The infamous Al Baik. Sigh. At the moment, I'm still on the hunt for the most authentic chicken shawarma. I think I've found places to get really good hummus and falafels. I miss Jeddah so much, everything about it, even my website address reflects that. Anywhere I go, I'm always on the look out for something familiar, whatever it may be, but mostly food. LOL.
Today is Kat's bridal shower at church. I must remember to buy batteries to put in Dad's camera.

I had to catch myself a couple of times as well. I also fell asleep. I guess reading the book you already 'know' what's going to happen you know? D. seemed to liked it. heh.

It was good until one point towards the end when it really did start to drag. After the scene in Scotland, it really seemed like the movie was over but then it keeps going into when he's at the hotel and there was this load collective groan of many restless people in the theater. I didn't like how some things were changed towards the end.
I was so happy to find Mi Goreng! I also found a Filipino shop nearby - they sell the "peanut brittle" and - I don't remember how to spell it, Nagaraya? snacks, those nuts with the crunchy flavor, them come in Garlic, Adobo, etc - I LOVE THOSE and I hunted those down when I was here in March after I read about it.
Tried looking for a broast place though! Al Baik is the best... they really should open up restaurants in other countries!!
