Anybody Out There & Spiderman 3
I'm currently reading Anybody Out There by Marian Keyes. So far, it's been wonderful and entertaining. Funny yet sad. It's about a young woman who's been recently married, and is currently recovering from a major accident. So major that she was pretty much out of commission for a good three months. Anna went back to Ireland so her family could take care of her. When she was well enough, she went back to Manhattan where she currently lives and works for a really big cosmetics company in which she gets all this free stuff! (I'm almost jealous!) Anyway, reality just hit her and realized that her husband died from the car accident they were in, and basically she's on a search for him, she just wants to know if he's ok, so she's trying all these pyschics and mediums to see if she could somehow get into contact with him. That's where I'm at right now.At the moment, I'm in love with Irish authors. First Irish author I think I ever read was Frank McCourt's Angela's Ashes, which I'm sure you've all heard of. Then I read A Place Called Here by Cecilia Ahern, which I though was great too. I still want to read her other books, I'm just finishing up this current read.
On Sunday my honey and I watched Spiderman 3 in IMAX. First off, let me just say, I'd never watched anything on IMAX and the screen is huge! Would've been nice to watch 300 on it. Oh well. Because I'm being lazy, I won't do the regular layout for my movie posts, sorry. But I'm giving Spiderman 3 a 2 and a half. It was just too emotional for me, too much 'lovey dovey' stuff, and the ending was so cliche, 'It's your choice' type of thing. I mean it's great because there's a moral behind it, but it was so obvious in a way, and I guess I was expecting more action than drama. The action and of course special effects were cool and all (I guess it's hard to think anythings cool after 300) but I just wasn't really into it. And what was with Toby Maguires' eyeliner? I mean, isn't it supposed to be a little bit more...subdued that that? I mean, wasn't it supposed to be not obvious? Weird. And I thought those dance moves were pretty gay, I mean, what the hell was that all about? I'm sorry, I can't see Tobey as the 'bad guy', honestly, I was too embarrased to watch that bit. Should've just waited for it to come out on DVD. Oh well.
